We currently live in a throwaway society where products are built based on how cheaply they are manufactured, not how long they last.
With this in mind, not all of us can afford to constantly replace all the things we own every 5 years nor do we want to. This has given us the opportunity to explore different preservative technologies.
The use of Fluorocarbon and Nanotechnology has become a renowned technique for product coating. We can offer the very best of this, here at Nasiol.
What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is the conduction of engineering, science, and technology on a minute scale measured in the nanometer range.
To put that into perspective, a nanometer is one thousand-millionth of a meter.
Working at such a small scale has enabled us to see and control individual atoms within a molecule.
This technology is used to enhance materials characteristics such as increased strength, lighter mass, improved control of the light-spectrum, improved control of absorbency, and chemical reactivity.
What is Fluorocarbon?
Fluorocarbon is a scientifically enhanced material combining material characteristics from PTFE, or trademarks of PTFE which are Xylan, Teflon, and Emralon, i.e., the substance a coating material used to enhance its subject’s chemical reactivity to depreciative effects such as corrosion and rust.
It is applied to an object by dipping, spraying, or any of the typical painting methods. The coatings’ ability to lubricate between room temperatures up to 200 ◦C makes it desirable for even the top end aerospace applications.
The coating is also able to repel liquid on a microscopic scale making it functional for many automotive and nautical applications.
PFOA and PFOS have been shown to be extremely persistent chemicals, both in the environment and in human tissue. A recent study linked these chemicals to serious damage to the immune system in children (Grandjean et al, 2012).
But PFOA and PFOS are just two of a family of fluorochemicals called PFCs, which in turn are part of the fluorocarbon family.
Some manufacturers domestically applied fluorocarbons as water-repellents, hence the unknown risks continue.
Most of the water repellent garments which we are wearing everyday life are coated with cheap PFOA, PFOS based fluorocarbon chemicals which are currently being banned in many Europe countries and Canada already.
Nasiol nano coatings are using new generation technology for making the surfaces hydrophobic and so water repellent. Nasiol Coatings
products do not contain PFOS/PFOA. They are eco-friendly, non-toxic, safe and REACH compliant products.
And the application areas of these hydrophobic coatings for the textile surfaces can be;
Furniture manufacturers, fabric manufacturers, carpet/rug manufacturers, land/sea/air vehicle manufacturers, leather manufacturers/handlers, hotels, cleaning/maintenance companies, restoration companies, clothing and technical textile companies, shoe manufacturers etc.
Nano Coatings versus Fluorocarbon Coatings
If we compare both of these, we can see that fluorocarbon coatings definitely boost carbon emissions.
However, nanocoatings decrease carbon emissions of industries as well as individual’s carbon footprints by reducing the use of detergents, fossil fuels, and so on.
Nanocoatings are improved by the scientists day by day and many forms can be used up to 275 ◦C.
In conclusion, we can see that a safe future comes with Nano-technology.
However, leaving old attitudes take time. What we do is setting our direction towards Nanotechnology and reducing the carbon foot-print for the World.
Join us to support sustainable production!

How long would your Produts last on a marine vessel in Australia,
how long would one application last?
Do you products have to be constantly Re applied
Thanks Dave
